This African Island To Move Its Operations on Blockchain

A South Korean blockchain organization has struck a deal that may see it give Fintech solutions to the government of Mauritius.

The East African Island country is hoping to modernize its activities, and has charged a state-owned organization, State informatics limited (SIL) with digitizing its financial and government services activities, as well as the country’s educational establishments, port operations, utilities and transport network.

Per South Korean media outlet Digital Daily, State informatics limited SIL is presently keen on applying blockchain innovation, and has looked for help from Locus Chain Foundation, a South Korean-owned organization established by a former gaming professional. The corporate – like dozens of different South Korean blockchain and cryptocurrency ventures – is based in Singapore. The South East Asian country, not like South Korea, grants initial coin offerings (ICOs), and has drawn in dozens of South Korean “ICO refugees.”

SIL might look to increase the reach of its blockchain platform – the corporate has already enforced digitized solutions for state bodies in Zimbabwe, Senegal, Zambia, Ghana, Botswana and Republic of Kenya.

Since earlier this year, Locus Chain has been active in Mauritius. A month ago, the corporate signed a technology cooperation collaboration with the Mauritius government, considering the application of what Locus Chain terms a “fourth-generation” blockchain platform, capable of carrying out  end-to-end transactions under 2 seconds, regardless of broadband speed.

Less than a month after Locus Chain declared it had reached an agreement with the Tunisia Economic City (TEC), the news comes, a joint Saudi Arabian-Tunisian USD fifty billion projects that may involve building what developers are claiming are going to be “the biggest smart town within the Mediterranean region” – covering a complete space of ninety square kilometers.

Locus Chain says its blockchain platform are to be utilized during the city construction process, and that its products are going to be “used as a base technology and settlement currency for numerous industries such as, medical, shopping, finance, communication, AI ventures and automatic vehicles.”
