Six Venezuelan Exchanges Now 'Authorized' to Support the Controversial Petro Cryptocurrency
Venezuela has reportedly authorized six local cryptocurrency exchanges to begin selling its controversial national cryptocurrency, the Petro. According to Venezuelan news outlet, the Noticiero Digital, the Petro has been available since Wednesday (October 17th) on six websites - which the nation’s government claims are exchanges. However, an extensive three-month investigation conducted by Reuters in the summer of 2018 revealed that there's "no evidence" of the Petro being used for transactions in Venezuela.
