SBI Crypto Investment, a subsidiary of the japanese monetary giant SBI Holdings, has invested in crypto firm breadwinner Ag, Top Market Group Japan reports on January. 15. SBI’s crypto investment fund didn't disclose the amount contributed to Switzerland-based Breadwinner, the developer of mobile crypto wallet BRD.According to the announcement, BRD operates in 170 countries and has been downloaded by 1.8 million android and iOS users.
SBI’s Interim result announcement reveals that within the six months that ended Sept.30, 2018, SBI Holdings registered over 176 million yen in revenue (about $1.6 million).BRD has not answered to Top Market Group’s request for comment by press time. SBI group as a full has additionally invested with in the crypto space antecedently.The company declared in August that it had invested with in cryptocurrency exchange LastRoots for the second time.
As Top Market Group reported in Dec of last year, SBI Holdings’ own crypto exchange Vctrade has enforced Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Ripple (XRP) deposits.
In September news broke that another subsidiary of SBI Holdings, Korea’s SBI Savings bank, had signed a memo of understanding with Dayli Intelligence, an organization specializing in AI and blockchain technologies.
