Former FinCen Officer Appointed as Technical Counsel by Chainalysis

Blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis has hired a former official from the U.S. monetary Crimes Enforcement Network and therefore the Department of Justice as Chief Technical Counsel, per an announcement published on June 26

Chainalysis has appointed Michael Mosier as its new Chief Technical Counsel. Mosier will currently be responsible for legal expertise of Chainalysis products like data privacy and international anti-money laundering, sanctions, policy, and government problems.

At Chainalysis, Mosier can work closely with Jesse Spiro, global Head of Policy, who joined the firm from money info services firm Refinitiv and Kristofer Doucette, V.P. of government Affairs, who antecedently served at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in financial intelligence. Commenting on the appointment, Mosier said:

"I am excited to join the incredible team at Chainalysis as the Chief Technical Counsel. Having worked across monetary integrity, emerging technology, and data privacy matters, the chance to bring technical-legal solutions to market to help advance Chainalysis's mission to build trust in blockchains and help our customers meet their regulative obligations is the excellent intersection at a seminal moment for all of those areas."

Earlier this month, the leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance hired a former strategic executive at Dell and therefore the National Basketball Association Gin Chao as its global strategy officer. Chao can reportedly advance the organization’s world strategy, heading initiatives in company development, venture investment and its legal departments.

Blockchain security and cryptocurrency custody firm BitGo appointed a veteran Wall Street trader Nick Carmi as its head of monetary services. Per a press release from BitGo chief executive officer Mike Belshe, the hire was spurred by an intent to forge a stronger association between technologically innovative digital assets and the traditional monetary sphere.
