Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin had to defend himself against allegations that he's leaving Ethereum. “I am not leaving. No plans to prevent or scale back blog posts / ethresearch posts / github commits,” he tweeted in response to a tweet accusing him of “pulling a Dan Larimer.” For context, Dan Larimer was behind BitShares, Steem and Eos Ventures, having left the first 2 for newer ventures.

At the annual “family reunion” in Prague, Devcon, organized by the nonprofit Ethereum Foundation, Buterin told Massachusetts Institute of Technology Review that it’s time for him to begin fading into the background as “a necessary a part of the expansion of the community.” His involvement within the project is now “a considerably smaller share of the work than I had 2 or 3 years back,” adding that economy his influence is “something we are positively making lots of progress on.”
