Cryptocurrency To Replace Fiat-Based Transactions In South Korean Province
During the first half of 2019, the South Korean province of Gyeongsangbuk-do is planning to issue its annual 100 billion won ($90 million) in gift certificates by using its own cryptocurrency. Previously, the province had issued these gift certificates by using local fiat currencies, in order to boost its economy and discourage the flight of capital.
