The chief executive officer of Romania's largest crypto exchange Coinflux was reportedly inactive on a warrant from the us for fraud, gangdom, and hiding, native news outlet Mediafax according Dec. 13. Coinflux has after stopped all digital currency exchanges.

Founded in 2015 within the Romanian town of Cluj, Coinflux is a web digital currency trading platform, with reportedly over 200 million euro value of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Ripple (XRP) in transactions.

Vlad Nistor, the chief executive officer and founding father of Coinflux, was supposedly arrested on the territory of Romania upon the request of U.S. prosecutors. Nistor is suspect of alleged deceitful activity, organized crime and money laundering. the problem of surrender of Nistor to the U.S. can reportedly be detected by the appellate court of Bucharest.

Following the purported arrest, Coinflux revealed an announcement saying that the exchange has briefly suspended all digital currency exchanges, whereas the company’s bank accounts are frozen. Coinflux states that the ongoing investigation has additionally restricted its access to some elements of the platform.

In July of 2018, the Ministry of Finance of Romania released a draft Emergency Ordinance, that regulates the issuing of electronic cash (e-money). Per the document, any legal entity wanting to issue e-money should have a share capital of no but €350,000 ($395,000), whereas its members are subject of approval by the Romanian national bank (BNR).
