Co-owner of now-defunct Polish cryptocurrency exchange BitMarket,TobiaszNiemiro has been found dead, as per a report on July 25.
The native police expressed that Niemiro had been found dead with a wound in his skull close to his residence within the town of Olsztyn. The exact circumstances of Niemiro’s death haven't yet been established.
Polish political and general news-focused newspaper GazetaWyborcza advised that Niemiro committed suicide. The authorities are apparently still engaged on determining the precise circumstances of Niemiro’s death.
BitMarket suffered from lack of liquidity
Niemiro purchased the BitMarket exchange a year once it had been launched, alongside his business partner MarcinAszkiełowicz. Within the beginning of July, BitMarket declared a scarcity of liquidity and ceased its operations. Once making an attempt to access the exchange through its web site, users were instead greeted with the subsequent text message in each English and Polish:
“Dear Users, we regret to tell you that because of the loss of liquidity, since 08/07/2019, Bitmarket.pl/net was forced to stop its operations. We’ll inform you regarding more steps.”
Nearly four hundred users seemingly fell victim to the collapse of the exchange. In an interview with money.pl, Niemiro claimed that he wasn't to blame for the developments and was affected still. At the time, Niemiro stated:
“I lost everything as a result of someone led to the collapse of the securities market. Now I'm losing face and good name that I've worked all my life. I’m one among the victims.”
